About Pepper
My name is Black Pepper. Most people called me ‘Pepper’. Someone called me ‘Sweet Pepper’ because I am so sweet. I have 3/4 Labrador and 1/4 Springer Spaniel in me. I was born on 4th August 2005 in Scotland.
My life
There are many things in my life. Some I like, some I love, others I’m not so keen about… Here they are:

- Food and water
- “Go eat!” That’s my favourite sound of the whole day! Most of my awake time I spend eating, looking for food, whining for food, looking cute for food… …what can I say? I’m a dog! Pasta is probably my favourite meal especially when I get it with parmesan cheese. I also love all meats (even lamb mummy…), vegetables, rice and soup. For some reason my bowl is also filled up with some crunchy brown things called Eukanuba. It’s ok, but it’s not essential to me - just give me more pasta instead. I drink loads of water every day but I’ll never say no if there is a wine or beer bottle needing to be emptied! Unfortunately some experts say there are some foods I am not supposed to eat. What do they know? They are not dogs.

- Frisbee
- A plastic disc shape toy designed to be thrown (by humans) and caught and chased (by dogs). Mummy and daddy use the Frisbee to play with me in the woods, football fields, parks and beaches. Whenever there is a Frisbee present, I don’t care about noone. All I want to do is to fetch it and bring it back so that it can be thrown again. It’s like I am being possessed by the Frisbee’s spirit. Whoo-uuu-aaa!!!

- Biscuits
- Milky bone biscuits, Chicken bone biscuits and Gravy bone biscuits are my favourite treats. Actually they are the only dog biscuits I am allowed because I have a sensitive stomach. These are things I have always had since I was a puppy.

- Carrots & Green beans
- This is more food I love. Actually I could have talked about them in the food section above but mummy made this cool picture for me. I fully believe in “five-a-day” - 5 carrots, 5 (hundred) beans every day and I’ll be so healthy! I get these as a treat too when mummy thinks I’ve eaten too many biscuits…

- Bed
- Ah bed… When I’m not eating, trying to eat (see above) or out with my Frisbee I sleep. I do play with my toys a bit too but mostly I will sleep, just waiting for the next meal. I need to sleep a lot - it’s hard work being a dog! I’m a lucky dog - I have a crate, a basket and two big sleeping mats. I have mummy’s bed too, but sometimes I do have to share this with mummy.

- Brush
- I don’t know why this is listed here. Ah, I see, another cool picture from mummy… My brush is ok though. Like my daddy, I love getting my back scratched by mummy. I have another brush too - this one I’m not so keen on. It’s the one mummy uses most nights to clean my teeth. And sometimes I have to pay a visit to “mummy dentist”. Humph! I don’t even get a biscuit as a reward when I go there…

- Wash
- Meet my enemies! Mr & Mrs Bucket, Mr Hose, Miss Shampoo, Evil Hairdryer and The Towels. Every day starts off perfectly - I eat my breakfast, eat mummy’s breakfast, go out and chase my Frisbee - and then it all goes wrong - I have to get washed! It’s ok when the weather is good because I usually just meet Mr or Mrs Bucket and one of The Towels. But when it is raining or muddy I end up with both Buckets, Miss Shampoo and all of The Towels. The worst days are when I try to help mummy by washing myself in the river. Then I have to go to see Mr Hose and Evil Hairdryer. Believe me when I tell you seeing Mr Hose in winter is no fun!!!

- Fireworks/Loud noises
- I absolutely hate these. I don’t understand why some humans have to do this close to my house. These people obviously don’t understand what it is like to be a dog. Our hearing is much better than you deaf humans so turn the volume down on these fireworks please!!! Have a thought too for some of my colleagues who have to work all the time as Guide Dogs. It costs so much to train them up and too many fireworks can force them to have to retire early.
